A Study of Functional and Natural Fat Soap Prepared by Adding with Extracts of Korean Herb Medicines

Abstract
The characteristics of a functional and natural fat soap prepared by using the extracts Chajogi(Perilla frutescens Britton) and Hwanggeum(Scutellaria baicalensis George) were investigated. The investigation enrolled 18 men aged 1-30 y and 18 women aged 2-35 y. Each participant by the groups were derided into A group (aged 1-3 y), B group (aged 5-11 y), C group (aged 11-36 y) by using the A-type soap containing Chajogi(Perilla frutescens Britton) extracts and A group (aged 1-3 y), B group (aged 4-7 y) and C group (aged 18-22 y) by the B-type containing Chajogi(Perilla frutescens Britton) and Hwanggeum(Scutellaria baicalensis George) extracts. When aroma effect and the medical cure of skin disease were investigated, A-type and B-type soaps were divided into A(aged 0-5 y), B(aged 6-10 y), C(aged 11-20 y) and D(aged ¡Ö20 y). Total experimental periods were three months. Scores for skin smooth and skin moisture holding capacity of the soaps were high in all groups. Scores for degree of skin stimulus in all groups were low. Aroma effects of A-type and B-type soaps decreased with a younger participant in the age. The high effects on the medical cure of skin disease by using B-type soap during the three months were observed.
